Tip Leads To Discovery Of Meth Lab
A tip from a concerned citizen led authorities to uncover a meth lab Monday, and arrest four individuals on related charges.
Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that agents made their way to a Mattoxtown Road property after receiving a tip concerning an active meth lab operating inside a camper on the property.
Agents report that during an ensuing search various items associated with the manufacture and use of methamphetamine were seized, along with a white powdery substance that tested positive as meth.
Those arrested include Jessica Louise Minks, 26, of West Point, and Brian Keith Suratt, 32, of Summertown, along with Steven Leon Dickson, 41, and Johanna Carole Newton, 36, both of Lawrenceburg.
They were booked at the Lawrence County Detention Center on charges that include initiation of a process to manufacture methamphetamine, promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Minks and Suratt were also served with outstanding warrants.
Bond for both Minks and Newton was set at $112,500, Suratt $123,000, and Dickson $113,500. All are scheduled to answer the charges in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on September 17, 2013.
